Some of you may be experiencing trouble with submitting drawings in oekaki. Are you getting an error about "Socketpermission error" and are using Firefox? Then read on to see how you can 'fix' it.
What causes it? The Socketpermission error is caused due to a bug between Firefox and Java. I recommend at this point updating to FireFox 3, as well as making sure you have the latest version of Java installed. How do I fix it? Personal testing showed me that Firefox 3 and the latest version of Java will allow me to use Shipainter without a problem. I can upload and retouch pictures with no trouble. (If you find when retouching your image isn't showing right, i.e. you linearted but the sketch shows instead, empty your cache and restart Firefox. Retouch again and you will find the correct image showing this time). The Socketpermission error will persist with PaintBBS. Even with the latest updates it won't work. Drawing in Internet Explorer will work fine. If you find yourself unable to draw at all or get issues with Firefox, I recommend you use the latest version of Internet Explorer to draw in oekaki. From my own experience it will work fine and uploads drawings from all applets. So there is no definite fix for this problem? No, not really. The error isn't fully fixed and some people may not be able to draw at ALL using the latest versions of the programs, even if some people can. It's a nasty little bug. :/ The only 'solution' is to draw in IE, but if you are anything like me you'd rather not open IE at all, heh. :P If there any other bugs you need assistance with, please Omail me.
